Quick Overview to Nursing Home Abuse
Nursing home abuse is the mistreatment, dehumanization, exploitation, and neglect of elderly individuals in the care of a nursing home; this type of abuse is widely-considered to be amongst the most heinous and egregious forms abuse due to its innate nature of its victims – the act of preying upon the elderly on the part of a caretaker is considered to be one of the ultimate violations of trust and humanity.
In the event that an individual has witnessed – or made aware – of such abuse, they are encouraged to promptly report the abuse to the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), which is the government agency that specializes in matters regarding crimes against the elderly, such as nursing home abuse – in addition, 911 (emergency services) should be contacted as well.
