Kansas Vehicle Registration
Kansas vehicle registration law requires that owners of motor vehicles have to register their motor vehicle with the Division of Motor Vehicles of Kansas before driving it on the road. Both second-hand and new motor vehicles have to properly undergo Kansas vehicle registration, regardless of whether the vehicles are purchased from an individual or an auto dealership. In addition, all new Kansas residents that have registered their motor vehicle in another state have to register their motor vehicle in the state of Kansas with the Division of Motor Vehicles. The initial Kansas vehicle registration must only be done in person as opposed to KS registration renewals, which can be either in person, by mail, or online annually.
