JUSTICE BOWMAN delivered the opinion of the court:

Plaintiff, Liaquat Khan, filed suit in the circuit court of DuPage County against defendants, Van Remmen, Inc. (VRI), and ThomasHaynes, alleging that they failed to pay all of the wages due tohim pursuant to an employment agreement. Defendants filed specialand limited appearances and moved to quash the summons served uponthem, arguing lack of in personam jurisdiction. Plaintiff bringsthis appeal from the trial court's order granting defendants'motion to quash and dismissing plaintiff's action.

The record reveals that VRI was in the business of hiringtechnically trained individuals to work for its customers on atemporary basis. Haynes was the president of VRI. Plaintiffalleged in his complaint that from 1995 through 1998 he and VRIwere parties to an employment agreement (agreement). The agreementprovided that plaintiff would work for J.I. Case Corporation inRacine, Wisconsin, at the rate of $28.50 per hour and would receive1
