§ 64.1-173. How claims filed before commissioners; time within which statutesof limitation not to run.
Any person having any such debt or demand and desiring to prove the sameshall file his claim or a written statement thereof before the commissioner,who shall endorse thereon the date of the filing and sign the endorsement inhis official character. The time that elapses between such filing and thetermination of the proceedings commenced under § 64.1-171 shall not becomputed as a part of the time within which, under any statute or rule oflaw, it may be necessary, in order to prevent a bar of the claim, to bringany action or institute any proceeding recommended in writing by thecommissioner for the recovery or enforcement of such claim.
