§ 6.2-1107. (Effective October 1, 2010) Defamation of savings institutionsand certain federal agencies prohibited; penalty.

No person shall willfully and knowingly make, issue, circulate, or transmit,or cause or knowingly permit to be made, issued, circulated, or transmitted,any statement or rumor, written, printed, reproduced in any manner, or byword of mouth, that is untrue in fact and is (i) malicious, in that it iscalculated to injure reputation or business, and (ii) derogatory to thefinancial condition or standing of any savings institution or Federal HomeLoan Bank. Any person who violates this section is guilty of a Class 2misdemeanor.
