§ 6.1-278. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Additional chargesprohibited; exception.
In addition to the interest, late charges, and processing fee permitted under§ 6.1-272.1, no further or other amount whatsoever for any examinationservice, brokerage, commission, fine, notarial fee, or other thing orotherwise shall be directly or indirectly charged, contracted for, collected,or received, except: (i) insurance premiums actually paid out by the licenseeto any insurance company or agent duly authorized to do business in thisCommonwealth for insurance for the protection and benefit of the borrowerwritten in connection with any loan, and (ii) the actual cost of recordationfees or on loans over $100 the amount of the lawful premiums, no greater thansuch fees, actually paid for insurance against the risk of not recording anyinstrument securing the loan and may charge a handling fee not to exceed $15for each check returned to the licensee because the drawer had no account orinsufficient funds in the payor bank.
