§ 6.1-267. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Other business in sameoffice; fee.
A. No licensee shall conduct the business of making loans under this chapterwithin any office, suite, room, or place of business in which any otherbusiness is solicited or engaged in, or in association or conjunction withany other business, unless thirty days' written notice is first given to theCommission. Upon receipt of such notice, the Commission may require thelicensee to provide information relating to the other business and how and bywhom it will be conducted.
Every notice shall be accompanied by a fee of $300.
B. The provisions of this section shall not affect any regulationspromulgated by the Commission prior to July 1, 2000, governing the conduct ofother businesses in a licensee's office, nor shall they affect the authorityof the Commission to promulgate such regulations as the Commission deemsnecessary. The Commission shall have the authority to investigate the conductof such other businesses in the licensee's office.
C. If the Commission finds that the other business (i) is of such a nature oris being conducted in such a manner as to conceal or facilitate violation orevasion of the provisions of this chapter or regulations adopted pursuant toit; (ii) is contrary to the public interest; or (iii) is otherwise beingconducted in an unlawful manner, the Commission may, after notice to thelicensee and an opportunity for a hearing, prohibit or limit the conduct ofsuch other business in the licensee's office.
