§ 54.1-2958. Procedure for determining acceptability of foreign courses ofstudy and educational institutions.
The Board may promulgate regulations and guidelines for determining theacceptability of courses of study and educational institutions in foreigncountries. These regulations and guidelines shall include time limitationswithin which approval shall be granted or denied and for reapplication incases of denial of approval, as well as notice of deficiencies in need ofremediation, and a procedure for applying for renewal of approval.
The proceedings for approval shall be conducted pursuant to theAdministrative Process Act (§ 2.2-4000 et seq.). The Board shall assess anyinstitution electing formal proceedings under § 2.2-4020 the cost of suchproceedings. These costs shall be limited to (i) the actual cost of recordingthe proceedings, including the preparation of a transcript, and (ii) thecosts of the site visit committee, if deemed necessary by the Board, andpreparation of the committee's testimony.
