53.1-9 - Appointment of Director; term.

§ 53.1-9. Appointment of Director; term.

A Director of Corrections shall be appointed by the Governor, subject toconfirmation by each house of the General Assembly.

The Director shall be appointed for a term coincident with that of theGovernor and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. Vacancies shall befilled in the same manner as original appointments are made.
