§ 32.1-247. Vector control.
The Board shall develop and maintain the capability and technical competencenecessary to investigate the occurrence of diseases borne by insects androdents and shall recommend such measures as may be necessary to prevent thespread of such diseases and to eradicate or control disease-bearing insectsand rodents.
In this regard the Board shall make provision for assistance to mosquitocontrol commissions when requested, field surveys and investigation ofcomplaints, advice to citizens and local governments, training in vectorcontrol, advice and recommendations on proper use of pesticides, andidentifying specimens.
