§ 32.1-235. Authority of Governor to enter into agreements with federalgovernment; effect on federal licenses.
A. The Governor is authorized, subject to the appropriation of funds, toenter into agreements with the federal government providing fordiscontinuance of the federal government's responsibilities with respect tosources of ionizing radiation and the assumption thereof by this Commonwealth.
B. Any person who, on the effective date of an agreement under subsection A,except those exempted under § 32.1-228, possesses a license issued by thefederal government shall be deemed to possess the same pursuant to thisarticle. Such license shall expire either ninety days after receipt of anotice from the Department of expiration of such license or on the date ofexpiration specified in the federal license, whichever is earlier.
