§ 32.1-122.5. Criteria to identify underserved areas.
The Board of Health shall establish criteria to identify medicallyunderserved areas within the Commonwealth. These criteria shall consist ofquantifiable measures sensitive to the unique characteristics of urban andrural jurisdictions which may include the incidence of infant mortality, theavailability of primary care resources, poverty levels, and other measuresindicating the inadequacy of the primary health care system as determined bythe Board. The Board shall also include in these criteria the need formedical care services in the state facilities operated by the Departments ofCorrections, Juvenile Justice, and Behavioral Health and DevelopmentalServices.
