§ 30-199. (Expires July 1, 2012) Powers and duties of Council.
A. The powers and duties of the Council shall be to:
1. Facilitate the coordination of public school career and technicalservices, workforce training programs, and efforts among agencies andinstitutions of the Commonwealth;
2. Receive information and advice from state agencies, authorities and otherorganizations addressing career and technical education and workforcedevelopment as necessary;
3. Recommend policies, legislation, and funding that are needed to supportcareer and technical education in the Commonwealth; and
4. Promote public-private partnerships and collaboration for career andtechnical education programs throughout the Commonwealth.
B. The Council shall develop recommendations that pertain to policies andgoals for career and technical education services, identify career andtechnical education needs and gaps in services, and address identified needsof career and technical education programs in the Commonwealth. The Councilshall submit its recommendations annually to the Governor and the GeneralAssembly, beginning on December 1, 2003.
