§ 3.2-3218. Penalties for failure to comply with subpoenas; compellingobedience.
Any person failing to comply with any subpoena issued by the Commission orpursuant to its authority is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor, and each dayduring which such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separateoffense. In the event any person shall fail to comply with any regulation ororder of the Commission, or obey any subpoena issued, or in the event of therefusal of any witness to testify to any matter concerning which he lawfullymay be interrogated by the Commission or its representative, it shall be theduty of the Circuit Court where the principal offices of the Commission arelocated, upon application of the Commission, to compel obedience byattachment proceedings for contempt as in the case of disobedience of therequirements of a subpoena issued from the court, refusal to testify therein,or disobedience of an order or decree of the court. The proceedings hereinauthorized in the Circuit Court to compel obedience shall be in addition tothe provisions of this section defining what shall constitute a misdemeanorand providing and prescribing the punishment therefor.
