§ 24.2-661. Detection and setting aside of double ballots.

After the votes on all voting and counting equipment have been determined andrecorded, the officers of election shall proceed to examine and count thepaper ballots to ascertain if any double ballots have been cast, and whetherthe number of ballots corresponds with the number of names on the pollbooksof persons who voted on paper ballots. If two or more separate ballots arefound so folded together as to represent the appearance of a single ballotthey shall be laid aside until the count of the ballots is completed. If,upon a comparison of the count and the number of names of such qualifiedvoters on the pollbooks, it appears that the two or more ballots thus foldedtogether were cast by the same qualified voter, they shall be set aside andnot counted.
