§ 24.2-108. Compensation and expenses of members.
The General Assembly shall establish a compensation and expense plan in thegeneral appropriation act for the secretaries and members of the electoralboards. The governing body for the county or city of each electoral boardshall pay compensation, expenses, and mileage in accordance with the plan andbe reimbursed annually as authorized by the act. The reasonable costs ofelectoral board members attending annual training programs provided by theState Board shall be included in the expense plan for electoral boards.
Each electoral board member shall submit a written claim for mileage andexpenses authorized by the plan. The claim, when filed and found to becorrect, shall be paid by the county or city. The county or city shall payclaims for mileage at the rate payable to members of the General Assembly.
The governing body of any county or city may pay to the secretary of theelectoral board any additional allowance for expenses it deems appropriateand may pay to a full-time secretary any additional compensation it deemsappropriate.
Each county and city shall furnish necessary postage and office supplies forthe electoral board.
