§ 23-30.58. Severability; chapter controls inconsistent laws.
The powers granted and the duties imposed in this chapter shall be construedto be independent and severable. If any one or more sections, subsections,sentences, or parts of any of this chapter shall be adjudged unconstitutionalor invalid, such adjudication shall not affect, impair or invalidate theremaining provisions thereof, but shall be confined in its operation to thespecific provisions so held unconstitutional or invalid. To the extent thatthe provisions of this chapter are inconsistent with the provisions of anygeneral statute or special act or parts thereof, the provisions of thischapter shall be deemed controlling.
