§ 2.2-2630. Council on the Status of Women; purpose; membership; terms;chairman.
A. The Council on the Status of Women (the "Council") is established as anadvisory council, within the meaning of § 2.2-2100, in the executive branchof state government. The purpose of the Council shall be to identify ways inwhich women can reach their potential and make their full contribution tosociety and this Commonwealth as wage earners and citizens.
B. The Council shall consist of nineteen members, to be appointed by theGovernor from the Commonwealth at large. Appointments shall be for terms ofthree years, except appointments to fill vacancies, which shall be for theunexpired terms. A majority of the membership of the Council shall constitutea quorum.
C. The Governor shall appoint the chairman of the Council.
