§ 2.2-1827. When replacement warrant issued without bond.
No bond shall be required where an original warrant was issued to (i) anyeleemosynary or educational institution of the Commonwealth for moneyappropriated to the institution, (ii) the treasurer of any county or city inthe Commonwealth for money apportioned to it out of the school fund and to bedisbursed by the treasurer in payment of school warrants, or to be issued toany district school board of any county for money to be disbursed by theboard in payment and settlement of any claims lawfully contracted in theoperation of the public schools in the district, or in the construction ofgraded school buildings, or (iii) the treasurer of any county or city in theCommonwealth for money apportioned to it from the gas tax, and such warranthas been lost or destroyed without having been paid. The Comptroller or theState Treasurer who issued the original warrant, or from whose office it wasissued, or if issued by his predecessor, shall issue a replacement warrant.The replacement warrant shall show on its face that it is a replacement andshall be issued within thirty days from the date of issuing the originalwarrant, upon satisfactory proof of the loss or destruction of the originalwarrant.
