§ 19.2-94. Assistance to arresting officer.
Every officer or other person empowered to make the arrest, as provided inthe preceding section, shall have the same authority, in arresting theaccused, to command assistance therein as the sheriffs and sergeants of theseveral counties and cities of this Commonwealth have by law in the executionof any criminal process directed to them, with like penalties against thosewho refuse to render their assistance.
