§ 308. Child care advisory board
(a) A child care advisory board is created. The board shall be composed of 12 members appointed by the governor for terms of two years. One member of the board shall represent each of the following: parents who use or have used child care services, licensed providers of child care services, registered providers of child care services, employers who provide child care services for their employees, research and referral programs and child care provider trainers. The remaining six members shall include at least three representatives of the public and no more than three representatives of state agencies which exercise functions relating to child care services.
(b) Members of the board shall not be entitled to a per diem but shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred in connection with their duties as members of the board. The governor shall designate one member to serve as chairperson.
(c) The board shall advise the director of the division of child development and the commissioner for children and families on all functions related to child care that are within the jurisdiction of state government. The board shall review and evaluate the child-care-related programs and activities of the division of child development. On or before January 15, the board shall report its findings and recommendations to the general assembly. (Added 1987, No. 205 (Adj. Sess.), § 5; amended 2005, No. 174 (Adj.
