§ 362. Full-time state's attorneys; private law practice
State's attorneys and all full-time deputy state's attorneys shall devote full time to their duties and during their terms shall not engage in the private practice of law nor be a partner or associate of any person practicing law. However, a full-time state's attorney or full-time deputy state's attorney may render legal assistance to a municipality or a municipal planning agency provided a fee is not charged. The state's attorneys of Essex and Grand Isle counties shall not serve on a full-time basis and shall not be subject to this section.
