§ 5-705. Penalty for violation
Any person who shall violate any bylaw, regulation, or ordinance adopted pursuant to the authority of this subchapter may, on conviction of such violation, be fined not in excess of five hundred dollars ($500.00) and committed to a correctional facility designated by the state commissioner of corrections for a term not exceeding three months, in addition to or in lieu of fine, at the discretion of the court. If any person convicted of violation of a bylaw, regulation, or ordinance adopted under the provisions of this subchapter shall neglect to pay such fine and costs as the court in its discretion shall adjudge, subject to the limitations herein contained, such person shall be committed to the correctional facility designated by the state commissioner of corrections under the same regulations, and for the same term and in the same manner provided by law when fines in criminal matters are not paid. All fines, penalties, taxes, and moneys paid for licenses and permits under authority of this subchapter shall belong to the city and shall be paid into the city treasury.
