§ 101. State board of health, appointment and qualification
(a) There shall be, within the department of health, a board to be known and designated as the state board of health. Such board shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed biennially in the month of February by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate. The members shall be appointed for a term of six years. Any vacancy occurring in the membership of such board shall be filled by the governor for the unexpired portion of the term. The governor shall designate the chairman of the board.
(b) Three members of such board shall be doctors, one of whom shall be licensed to practice medicine and surgery in the state, one of whom shall possess special training and ability in psychiatry and one of whom shall be licensed to practice osteopathy, surgery and obstetrics in the state; one member of such board shall be licensed to practice dentistry in the state and three members of such board shall be persons not of the medical or dental profession.
