69-9-205. Duties of executive director.
The executive director shall:
(1) Plan, and submit to the commission, programs for the education of the public in boating safety, for the assignment of identification numbers to motorboats, for the regulation of vessels subject to this chapter, and for the enforcement of the provisions of this chapter including related cooperation with other agencies and commissions of this state or any political subdivision of other agencies and commissions and with officials of other states and federal government;
(2) Make and develop plans, within the limits of available income, for the improvement and promotion of all the waters of Tennessee for recreational purposes, including, but not limited to, the improvement of waterways through the deepening of channels, the acquisition and development of access areas and the removal of obstructions; and
(3) Perform such additional educational, administrative and enforcement duties as the commission may lawfully assign.
