68-140-524. Choice of licenses for EMTs and EMT-Ps.

An EMT-P may choose to be licensed as an EMT by submitting an application to the board and by completing any training the board deems necessary. No additional fees or examinations shall be required of an EMT-P who chooses to terminate licensure as an EMT-P and obtain licensure as an EMT. An EMT choosing to be an EMT-P shall pay the fees set by the board for licensure as an EMT-P and complete all necessary training and examinations; provided, however, that if a person is employed in a position for which a local government has established, as a condition of employment, that a person holding such a position must be an EMT-P, then the provisions of this section shall not apply to any person employed in such a position.
