62-5-311. Reciprocity.
(a) A nonresident of this state who holds a valid license as a funeral director or embalmer issued by another state or provincial authority may apply for a license as a funeral director or embalmer in this state by submitting written application to the board on the prescribed form, accompanied by:
(1) A fee as set by the board per license applied for; and
(2) A certificate showing that the applicant was duly examined by the other state or provincial authority at a time when the applicant was not a resident of this state.
(b) If the board determines that the nonresident applicant meets or exceeds each of the minimum qualifications required for funeral directors or embalmers in this state, the board may limit examination of the applicant to questions relating to the laws and rules governing the practice in which the applicant wishes to engage. If the applicant receives a scaled score of seventy-five (75) or better on the examination, the board may, upon receipt of a fee as set by the board, issue to the applicant the appropriate license.
