54-8-104. Supervisor Employment Duties and compensation Other employees and laborers.

The county highway commission created by the authority of this chapter is authorized and empowered to employ a supervisor, who shall have general supervision, under the authority of the county highway commission, over the public roads of the county for which the supervisor is elected, who shall serve at the will of the county highway commission electing the supervisor, and whose salary shall not exceed one hundred fifty dollars ($150) per month, but the salary shall be fixed by the county highway commission electing the supervisor, and the county supervisor of public roads in connection with the county highway commission electing the supervisor is authorized to employ other employees and laborers necessary to construct, repair, and maintain the public roads, levees and bridges, and to fix the wages to be paid to the employees and laborers.
