49-5-5504. Term of employment and duties of supervisors and career level I supervisors Continuing validity of other certificates.
(a) A supervisor who is not certified as a career level I supervisor shall retain any other currently valid certificate held by the person at that time, including a career level I, II or III teacher certificate issued under parts 50 and 52-54 of this chapter and this part.
(b) (1) A career level I supervisor shall work at least a ten-month contract.
(2) A career level I supervisor shall perform the duties defined by the local board of education and consistent with state policy.
(3) A career level I supervisor employed as such by an LEA on a ten-month contract shall receive a one thousand dollar ($1,000) salary supplement from the state in addition to all other compensation to which the supervisor may be entitled.
(4) A career level I supervisor who is not recertified as a career level I supervisor shall retain any other currently valid certificate held by the person at that time, including a career level I, II or III teacher's certificate issued under parts 50 and 52-54 of this chapter and this part.
