40-6-12. Report of tubercular lesions found in slaughtered animals--Investigation by state veterinarian. Every meat inspector at an "accredited establishment" as defined by the uniform methods and rules for tuberculosis eradication by the United States Department of Agriculture shall report postmortem findings of tubercular lesions in slaughtered animals to the Office of the State Veterinarian along with information relative to the identity of such cattle including backtag and brand information.
Upon receipt of such report, the state veterinarian shall investigate the herd of origin and cattle associated with those showing evidence of tuberculosis at the time of slaughter.
