33-16-4.1. Direction and supervision by Division of Veterans Affairs--Independent functions retained by commission. The Veterans Commission shall be administered under the direction and supervision of the Division of Veterans' Affairs and the director thereof, but shall retain the quasi-judicial, quasi-legislative, advisory, other nonadministrative and special budgetary functions (as defined in § 1-32-1) otherwise vested in it and shall exercise those functions independently of the director of veterans affairs. The commission shall nominate the director of veterans affairs to be appointed pursuant to § 1-46-7.
