32-30-8. Courtesy parking by veteran--Exemption from liability for violations--Exceptions. A veteran who has a license issued pursuant to § 32-5-108 shall be entitled to courtesy in the parking of such automobile which shall relieve him from liability for any violations with respect to parking, except as provided in §§ 32-30-1 to 32-30-4, inclusive. Any municipal governing body may, by ordinance, prohibit parking on any street or highway for the purpose of creating a fire lane or to provide for the accommodation of heavy traffic during morning and afternoon rush hours. The privileges extended to veterans by this section do not apply on streets or highways when parking is prohibited.
