3-7-2. Removal of commissioner from office--Notice and hearing. The Governor may remove a commissioner for cause, but shall first give the commissioner a copy of the charges against the commissioner and an opportunity to be heard publicly, in person or by counsel, in the commissioner's own defense upon not less than ten days' notice. If the commissioner is removed, the Governor shall file in the Office of the Secretary of State a complete statement of all charges made against the commissioner and the Governor's findings on the charges, together with a complete record of the proceedings.
