28-1-45.6. Older Americans Ombudsman Program. For the purpose of § 28-1-45.7, the term, "ombudsman program" means the office authorized under § 307(a) of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended to January 1, 1990, and § 28-1-45 to investigate and resolve complaints made by or on behalf of older individuals who are residents of nursing facilities, assisted living centers, or other residential facilities for older individuals, relating to action, inaction, or decisions of providers, or their representatives, of long-term care services, of public agencies, or of social service agencies, which may adversely affect the health, safety, welfare, or rights of such residents.
