SECTION 5-57-30

   § 5-57-30  Investigation of I.D. cardapplications. – After receipt of an application for an I.D. card, the licensing authority shallconduct an investigation to determine whether the facts stated in theapplication are true and shall receive from the department of the attorneygeneral all records of criminal information which it has or receives indicatingany criminal activity on the part of the applicant for an I.D. card. Thedepartment of the attorney general will also submit the fingerprints of theapplicant for an I.D. card to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for review.The department of the attorney general shall provide the information subject tothe rules and regulations promulgated by the attorney general regarding theproduction of the information.
