§ 5-4-23 Severability. – If any clause, sentence, paragraph, or part of this chapter is for any reasonadjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, that judgmentshall not affect, impair, or invalidate the remainder of the chapter, but shallbe confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, or part,directly involved in the controversy in which that judgment has been rendered.
