SECTION 5-29-40
§ 5-29-40 Persons and practices exempt. The following practices, acts and operations are exempt from the operation ofthis chapter:
(1) Physicians in the regular discharge of their duties.
(2) The operation by bona fide students of podiatry in theclinical departments or the laboratory of a school of podiatry approved by theAmerican Podiatric Medical Association on podiatry accreditation or itsdesignated agency or by the board of examiners for podiatry.
(3) The practice of podiatry by licensed podiatrists of otherstates or countries while appearing and operating as bona fide clinicians orinstructors in a school of podiatry approved by the American Podiatric MedicalAssociation on podiatry accreditation or its designated agency and by the boardof examiners for podiatry.
(4) The practice of podiatry by licensed podiatrists of otherstates or countries in conducting or making a clinical demonstration before anybona fide podiatry or medical society, association, or convention; provided,that the consent of the board of examiners in podiatry to the making andconducting of the clinical demonstration must first be obtained.
(5) The practice of podiatry by students of a school ofpodiatry approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association on podiatryaccreditation or its designated agency and under the supervision of a licensedpodiatrist, in any public hospital, or any institution under the supervision ofthe state or in any program of the state department of health, with theapproval of the board of examiners in podiatry and the authorities of thatschool, as a part of the required training of that student.
