§ 5-1-10 Issuance and renewal ofcertificates. (a) Upon payment of the fees required by § 5-1-11, an individual who hascomplied with § 5-1-8 or 5-1-9 is entitled to a certificate ofregistration indicating that he or she is qualified to practice architecture inthis state. Each certificate of registration shall contain the name of theindividual to whom it was issued and his or her date of birth.
(b) Every certificate of registration is valid for a periodof two (2) years and expires on the last day of December of each odd numberedyear following its issuance. An architect may renew his or her certificate ofregistration by paying the renewal fee or fees required by § 5-1-11. Anarchitect who fails to renew his or her certificate of registration prior toDecember 31 may not thereafter renew his or her certificate of registrationexcept upon payment of the renewal fee or fees and the additional fee requiredby § 5-1-11. The board may require all applicants for renewal to providethe board with information, including, but not limited to, a brief outlinesetting forth the professional activities of any applicant during a period inwhich a certificate of registration has lapsed and other evidence of thecontinued competence and good character of the applicant, all as the boarddeems necessary.
(c) A duplicate certificate of registration to replace onewhich has been lost, destroyed, or mutilated may be issued by the board uponpayment of the fee required by § 5-1-11.
