§ 46-8-6 Notice of sale, loss, ordestruction of motor. – Within seven (7) days after an outboard motor has been sold, assigned, lost, ordestroyed, the owner of the outboard motor shall notify the licensingauthorities of the town or city in which the outboard motor is registered. Thelicensing authorities shall then note the information on its copy of thecertificate of registration and forward the information to the attorneygeneral, who shall do likewise on his or her copy of the certificate ofregistration.
