§ 46-13-2 - Definitions.

§ 46-13-2 Definitions. – For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
(1) "Director" means the director of the department of healthor a subordinate to whom the director has assigned his or her functions.
(2) "Person" means and includes an individual, partnership,association, or corporation, or any town or city or any agency thereof, or thestate or any agency thereof, or any other legal entity.
(3) "Public water supply system" means a system for theprovision to the public of water for human consumption through pipes or otherconstructed conveyances, if the system has at least fifteen (15) serviceconnections or regularly serves at least twenty-five (25) individuals daily atleast sixty (60) days out of the year;
(i) Any collection, treatment, storage and distributionfacilities under control of the operator of the system used primarily inconnection with the system; and
(ii) Any collection or pretreatment storage facilities notunder the control of the operator which are used primarily in connection withthe system.
(4) "Safe and potable" means suitable or fit for humanconsumption as drinking water.
