§ 45-24.1-8 Exceptions to applicability ofchapter. – Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent ordinary maintenance orrepair of any structure within the historic district; provided, that anymaintenance or repair does not result in any change of design, type ofmaterial, or appearance of the structure or its appurtenances. Nothing in thischapter shall be construed to prevent the construction, alteration, repair,moving, or demolition of any structure under a permit issued by the buildingofficial prior to the passage of an ordinance.
