§ 4-1-10 Possession or training offighting animals. – Whoever owns, possesses, keeps or trains any bird, dog, or other animal, withthe intent that that bird, dog, or animal engages in an exhibition of fighting,shall be fined not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) and/or be imprisonednot exceeding two (2) years for the first offense, and for any subsequentoffense shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) nor morethan five thousand dollars ($5,000) or be imprisoned not exceeding two (2)years, or both.
