§ 27-5-3.1 Exclusion – Nucleardamage. – Insurers issuing the standard fire insurance policy of the state of RhodeIsland pursuant to § 27-5-3 are authorized to affix to the policy orinclude in it a written statement that the policy does not cover loss or damagecaused by nuclear reaction or nuclear radiation or radioactive contaminationresulting from an insured peril under the policy; provided, that nothingcontained in this section shall be construed to prohibit the attachment to anypolicy of an endorsement or endorsements specifically assuming coverage forloss or damage caused by nuclear reaction or nuclear radiation or radioactivecontamination.
