§ 27-44-3 Scope of application. – (a) This chapter applies to all kinds of insurance written on risks in thisstate by any insurers authorized to do business in this state, except:
(1) Life insurance;
(2) Annuities;
(3) Accident and health insurance;
(4) Ocean marine insurance;
(5) Reinsurance;
(6) Medical malpractice insurance;
(7) Workers' compensation insurance; and
(8) Insurance through residual market mechanisms.
(b) The classes of insurance described in subsection (a) ofthis section shall be subject to all applicable provisions of law governingrates, including, but not limited to chapters 6, 7.1, 9, 19, and 20 of thistitle, and chapter 62 of title 42.
