§ 27-25-37 Penalties. (a) Any person who willfully makes a false or fraudulent statement in orrelating to an application for membership or for the purpose of obtaining moneyfrom or a benefit in any society, shall upon conviction be fined not less thanone hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) orimprisonment for not less than thirty (30) days nor more than one year, or both.
(b) Any person who willfully makes a false or fraudulentstatement in any verified report or declaration under oath required orauthorized by this chapter, or of any material fact or thing contained in asworn statement concerning the death or disability of an insured for thepurpose of procuring payment of a benefit named in the certificate, shall beguilty of perjury and shall be subject to the penalties prescribed by law.
(c) Any person who solicits membership for, or in any mannerassists in procuring membership in, any society not licensed to do business inthis state shall upon conviction be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00)nor more than two hundred dollars ($200).
(d) Any person guilty of a willful violation of, or neglector refusal to comply with, the provisions of this chapter for which a penaltyis not prescribed, shall upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceedingfive hundred dollars ($500).
