§ 27-19-18 Coverage for adoptive children.– Subscribers to any nonprofit hospital service plan who have satisfied thecontinuous membership requirements of the plan, and who adopt children underthe guardianship and custody of the director of the department of children,youth, and families, shall be afforded coverage under the plan for any adoptedchild without any waiting period, notwithstanding the fact that the adoptedchild may have any preexisting medical condition.
