§ 17-7-4 Oath of members –Compensation. – Before entering upon his or her duties, each member of the board shall take anoath of office before the supreme court in which the member shall swear oraffirm faithfully and impartially to administer the duties of his or her officewithout regard to partisan or political considerations. Members of the board ofelections shall be compensated at the rate of seven thousand dollars ($7,000)per year.
