§ 17-15-31 Tabulation of state returns– Certificates of nomination or election. – The state board shall proceed to tabulate the state primary returns andannounce the results, but shall issue no certificates of nomination until theexpiration of the period in which a recount may be requested as provided in§ 17-15-34 has expired and, if a request has been filed, until the resulthas been finally determined by the state board. Following the expiration ofthis period and the final determination by the state board, if any request fora recount is made, the board shall issue certificates of nomination or electionto the candidates so nominated or elected.
