§ 11-33-6 Perjury before general assemblycommittees. (a) Every person who shall testify before any committee, sub-committee, orcommission of the general assembly may be required to do so under oath oraffirmation by the committee, sub-committee, or commission. If required totestify a stenographic record shall be kept of that testimony after approval bythe speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate.
(b) Any person who shall willfully swear or affirm falsely inregard to any testimony before any committee, sub-committee, or commission ofthe general assembly shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be finednot exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) or be imprisoned not exceeding oneyear.
