1753 - Aid from Federal Government.

     § 1753.  Aid from Federal Government.        In addition to the powers conferred upon any authority by     other provisions of this chapter, the authority is empowered to     borrow or accept money or accept grants or other financial     assistance from any Federal agency for or in aid of the     authority's operations. It is the purpose and intent of this     chapter to authorize the authority, and the authority is so     authorized, to do any and all things necessary or desirable to     secure the financial aid or cooperation of any Federal agency in     any of the authority's operations. These things may include,     without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the power to     change or revise rates, fares and charges, to make relocation     payments to families, businesses and nonprofit organizations, to     provide an areawide transportation plan or program for the     development of a comprehensive and coordinated mass     transportation system for the metropolitan area, to carry out     research, development and demonstration projects and to provide     a share of the cost of any project and all as may be required by     any Federal law or by the requirements of any Federal agency     authorized to administer any Federal program of aid to any mass     transportation program.
